Miss South Africa 2021

Last Saturday saw the crowning of our new Miss South Africa, Lalela Mswane, at an elaborate function at Grand West in Cape Town.  It was great to see everyone stepping out so stylishly  and the decision by the judges was a tough one as all 10 contestants were capable of being our new queen.  I’m sure Lalela is going to do us proud and be a great ambassador for our country.
This year the mood board we were given was one of natural, earthy colours - olive, terracotta, salmon and blush - and we worked closely with Texneo, a Brazilian textile company that sponsored all the fabrics for the show.  The fabrics were beautiful and soft, inspiring a very feminine range of classic, timeless, elegant designs that moulded perfectly to the body.  The Kaftans had an ethereal feel as they floated elegantly behind the girls, giving them a touch more coverage for extra self confidence as the swimsuit section is always the toughest part of the show.
But the Top Ten rocked it and I wish them all the best in whichever  path they decide to choose!
I’m looking forward to the summer of 2021 and putting this pandemic and lockdown restrictions behind us - so here’s  to a sunshine filled, healthy post pandemic boom !

Miss South Africa 2020

What a year this has been - confusing, disruptive and scary but with everything there is always an up side.  This year we were chosen to design the swimwear for the Miss South Africa pageant - an unbelievable honor for any company especially in these uncertain times.  We collaborated with Mzukisi from ImprintZA to design an edgy, colourful, exciting range of swimwear for a woman that is confident, successful and resilient.   Mzukisi chose a bold, strong African print which influenced our designs in the way that we wanted our female customer to feel empowered, sexy and invincible.  The first design...

2020......say no more

2020......say no more

I don’t know about you but I was feeling super positive about 2020 last year and not much could have prepared me for what was to come. The strangest year of my life with lockdowns, restrictions and businesses closing everywhere, it’s been a really tough one.  A lot of hardship, pain and self reflecting - that’s how I’ve seen this year so far.  But as with everything there is always opportunity, you just have to dig a little deeper this year to find it.  We started making masks - never would I ever have dreamed that this would be on...

Summer 2019

Summer 2019

Welcome to TracyB Swimwear!  I am so excited about this summer collection.  There are all sorts of sparkly fabrics which I love in tiny bikinis and sexy monokinis and I've also imported some beautiful animal prints from Brazil.  All the swimwear is made locally here in Cape Town.  I am also introducing a more "conservative "range or shall I say a more wearable range for the average woman (myself included!!) - it took a while to get the pattern perfected on a fullpiece I'd love to wear that covers most flaws women have issues with especially if you're looking for more coverage! ...

TracyB and Ecodiva Collab

TracyB and Ecodiva Collab

Lastweekend we partnered with Ecodiva to create a gorgeous shoot - models were dressed in black and white swimsuits to create a classic, elegant look - makeup and hair  was done by Cleo from Hardwire Images and looked spectacular while  the new Ecodiva body shimmer (launching next week) was massaged liberally all over these hot summer bodies to create a “divashimmerglow”.  Perfect for summer and something I’ll definitely be buying especially since it’s cruelty free - a big plus for me .  We shot at the Anton Robert Studios In llandudno which has one of the most amazing views in...
